Martin Luther King said it best when he declared, “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” At College View we believe that to create better world citizens, academics and character are equally important. It is for this reason that we concentrate on both literacy and character.

Why? The ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking is an essential skill that students must have to be successful in the 21st century. Additionally, a ton of research has shown that happy, productive people have certain character strengths that have greatly attributed to their success. These strengths include grit, gratitude, social intelligence, self-control, optimism, integrity, and curiosity. Together, a solid academic foundation coupled with a lasting strength of character will allow the students of today to be the problem solvers of tomorrow.
