Caffeine Warning for Children

Posted May 25, 2023

According to the American Academy of Psychiatry, “ At this time, pediatricians advise against caffeine for children under 12 and against any use of energy drinks for all children and teens. They also suggest limiting caffeine to at most 100 mg (about two 12 oz cans of cola) daily for those 12-18 years”. For more information you can read the full details at:

As a school we have noticed student’s attending and bringing PRIME drinks with them to campus. The ones in the can have a large amount of caffeine in them and have a warning on the label advising no one under 15 years to 18 years old to be drinking such beverages. Please refrain from sending these PRIME canned energy drinks to school with your student or students.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
