Eco-Schools U.S. Gold Seal Award

College View Elementary School, joins a network of thousands of schools globally, committed to a more sustainable and just world. As part of the 2025-2026 DPS Climate Action Grant, CVE demonstrated exceptional whole-school engagement and student leadership through their Climate Action Team, Bike Bus initiative, and community garden efforts. The project showcased strong community partnerships with local organizations, integrated STEAM learning, and fostered critical thinking, advocacy, and problem-solving among students. CVE's efforts resulted in tangible benefits, such as expanded access to bikes and safety equipment, increased student participation in sustainable transportation, and a thriving edible garden program that engaged both students and families. College View effectively linked environmental action to community health, equity, and well-being, while empowering students to take ownership of meaningful change. This is a clear definition of education for sustainability and reciprocal community relationships that has earned CVE Gold Status recognition with the national Eco-Schools organization!

CVE will continue to expand opportunities for deepening community collaborations during the 2026-2027 school year, involving more families and local partners in planning, decision-making, and collective ownership.
